"Caged" poem written today

I feel like a modern day Mac
from One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
Trying to help the sick
but I'm becoming like the rest.

Choking on words, drowning in thoughts
thinking I belong in the Disturbed Ward.
Finding hope, needing grace
please help me find a way, oh Lord.

Time is tough, distance is hard
Especially for a kid my age.
I need patience, I need You
to get me out of this cage.

I'm looking down, feeling ashamed
knowing my head should be raised.
Maybe it's all in my head,
but I'm tired of this craze.

"In This Together" new poem written today

What's it like to be on the other side?
To be with the one's who chose not to hide.
Where the shadows are rays of light
And our day is their night.

Is there a way to get a glimpse
of hope?
There's gotta be a way
I know.
How can we get everyone
to follow?

How can I save everyone else
If I haven't even saved myself
I can't do it alone, I need some help.

Open my eyes, wake me up
Cause we're in this together
no matter what the weather.
